For him I will always cheer!
Like me he's a Chemical Engineer,
With the business pedigree
Of a centenarian family.
He's equanimous and versatile,
Willing to go the extra mile.
There was indeed a family connect
But the real reason our paths intersect
Was Anand Mahindra, a common friend.
He would have been here but in the end
A prior commitment kept him away
So you'll have to do with me today.
We've served for long on Anand's Board
And now and then we have scored.
Murugu is someone that Anand heeds
And with his support he succeeds.
Murugu's group has reached new heights
And now the stars are in his sights.
Now Anand and Murugu's tale
Began in Lawrence Lovedale.
Murugu's step had a certain spring
And to this day he'll always bring
Enthusiasm and good cheer
And quickly dispel any fear.
Now Lovedale is set in the South
And Anand can shoot off his mouth
With Tamil phrases of the kind
That refined folks inevitably would mind.
Occasionally when there's a lull
And the board meeting is getting dull
He will let loose the choicest phrases
But even when he's in these phases,
Amidst all that raucous noise,
Murugu keeps his perfect poise,
Without much change in his mien,
A mere hint of a blush is seen.
And all of us, of course, are awed
That triple M got this award.
